The official trip started with a flight to Lima on our chartered jet. We then took a commercial airline flight across the Andes to Cusco, then a bus and train to Machu Picchu, the famous Incan ruins in the Andes. I stayed in an amazing hotel near Machu Picchu (in the village of Aguas Calientes). I highly recommend visiting this part of the world. In fact, I want to go back and spend more time in Cusco and Machu Picchu. The only downside is the altitude (11,000+ feet in Cusco) which can cause headaches and discomfort.
