Mediterranean Cruise
Mediterranean Cruise
May 2008
I vacationed in Europe for almost three weeks with my brother and parents. We spent a couple of days in Munich before we flew to Barcelona to board our cruise ship. Our first port of call was Marseilles, where we took a bus trip to Avignon and the Pont du Gard. Next, we stopped at Pisa (briefly, to see the Field of Miracles) and Florence. We took a self-guided tour of Rome and a guided tour of Pompeii in southern Italy. We had a short stop on the Greek island of Mykonos before heading on to Istanbul, where we visited the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. We stopped briefly at the Turkish port of Kusadasi and the historic site of Ephesus before moving on to Athens, where we saw the Parthenon atop the Acropolis. We ended the trip in Venice.
